Accidents Happen At Home
According to the National Safety Council, half of all fatal accidents occur in the home. Of the respondents polled by the organization, 32 percent believed they were safer at work than at home. However statistics show that in 2004 alone 3.7 million people were seriously injured on the job while 6.8 million people received a disabling injury away from work.
Few people realize that homeowners insurance protects you against expensive liability claims. If an accident occurs on your property you could be sued for damages. If an accident occurs outside of your home, but is caused by yourself, your children or your pet, you could also be liable. Homeowners insurance does not just cover accidents you are responsible for, but damage caused to others property.
