Are you making a Mistake buying your own Health Insurance?
Buying your own health insurance may seem harmless enough. But is this a mistake? If you have never asked yourself this question it may be time that you do so. Many people buy their own health insurance, but find out sooner or later that they are wasting money. And wasting money is not something that you want to do no matter how much you have. This can be a difficult situation to encounter, but you must do so nonetheless. After all, your health insurance coverage is very important to your well being and financial standing.
If you buy your own health insurance you need to ask yourself if there is another way of getting coverage for less. The first place to look at is your employer. Do they offer group health insurance? If so, there is a better than average chance that you will be able to receive benefits through them for a lower price. Not to mention the fact that the group policy will probably offer more coverage.
If your employer does not offer group health insurance coverage you then want to turn to your spouse. Does he or she receive coverage through work? If so, they may be able to ask about adding you to the policy as well. This may cost some money, but once again, probably not as much as buying on your own.
You may be making a mistake by paying for your own health insurance. It is good that you are interested in carrying coverage, and know how important this is. But if you are spending money when you don't have to you are making a mistake. Ask your employer if they offer group health insurance. If they don't, turn to your spouse next. In the end, if you have exhausted all your options you are in no worse shape because you can always continue to pay for an individual policy.
