Buying An Annuity
Interested in buying an annuity? Here are a few tips to assist you in the process.
- Request annuity quotes from more than one provider. You can do this quite easily by using our online form.
- Research the potential annuity company's background. You'll want to make sure your annuity is offered by a reliable and financially stable company. While there are no guarantees you can make an educated decision by checking financial ratings. Financial ratings are offered by companies like Moody's, Standard & Poor's and A.M Best.
- An annuity is an investment. Every investment offered to you should also make you aware of alternatives to that particular investment.
- If you purchase an annuity, most states give you a short time period in which you can cancel the policy for a refund. This "free-look' provision is usually ten days from the date you purchase the annuity.
