Rehabilitation and Disability Insurance
Return-to-work or rehabilitation programs are very effective in helping you get back to work after becoming disabled. Most disability insurance companies have rehabilitation programs that can pay for training and other services you may need to return to work. These programs consist of many resources such as:
- Counselors
- coordination of medical services
- vocational and employment assessment
- worksite modification
- purchase of adaptive equipment
- business and financial planning
- training and education expenses
The availability of these services varies with the disability insurance company's rehabilitation program. Some disability insurance policies will have a mandatory rehabilitation provision. Others may increase your benefits if you are willing to participate in a return-to-work or rehabilitation program.
