After all, you want to keep your valuables safe and know for sure that you will get your money back if something were to happen to them. Others look into more home insurance when they greatly increase the value of their property. This can happen after putting an addition on your home, upgrading your kitchen, etc. Anything that greatly increases your home's value may lead you to wanting to purchase more home insurance.

You do not have to buy more home insurance unless something changes that forces you into doing so. Even then, you may want to take the risk and leave your home insurance policy the way it is. All in all, you should review your policy once per year to ensure that you have the coverage you need. If things have changed and you want to add more, call your provider and let them know what you are looking for. You may find that adding coverage is not nearly as expensive as you thought.
